The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) is continuing its nationwide tour, with a crucial stop in Ouarzazate, the beating heart of the Drâa-Tafilalet region. Led by Achraf Fayda, this strategic initiative aims to strengthen ties with local stakeholders and refine a tourism approach tailored to the unique characteristics of each region. Following a series of successful visits, the ONMT delegation now focuses on Ouarzazate—a destination brimming with potential, where culture, adventure, and cinema converge.

One of the core objectives of this tour is to establish direct communication with tourism professionals, represented by the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Drâa-Tafilalet, alongside local authorities. By fostering these discussions, the ONMT seeks to better understand the region’s challenges and expectations in order to develop targeted, high-impact strategies. The ultimate goal? To implement customized initiatives that enhance the destination’s appeal and amplify its influence both nationally and internationally.

Renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage, the Drâa-Tafilalet region attracts two distinct yet complementary audiences: travelers in search of authentic experiences and professionals from the film industry. With its lush oases, centuries-old kasbahs, and striking natural scenery, Ouarzazate has long been a key asset in Morocco’s tourism landscape. By intensifying promotional efforts and expanding flight connections, the ONMT aims to establish the city as a must-visit destination in Morocco.

This tour is part of a broader vision for Moroccan tourism, one that emphasizes region-specific promotion. The ONMT is actively working to diversify the country’s tourism offerings by highlighting the unique assets of each destination. This tailored approach caters to an increasingly diverse international clientele, eager for personalized experiences and customized travel itineraries.

Following its visit to Ouarzazate, the ONMT will continue its regional tour, heading next to Fès, the Oriental region, Dakhla, then making stops in Beni Mellal and Tangier. Through this series of meetings, the ONMT aims to create lasting synergies between the tourism office, regional tourism councils, and local authorities, ensuring a sustainable and harmonious development of Morocco’s tourism sector.

With Ouarzazate as a key milestone, the ONMT’s strategy is clear: reinforce Morocco’s position as a top-tier global destination while preserving the distinct charm of each of its regions.
