Essaouira is now just a short flight away from the Moroccan capital. On Thursday, April 18, 2025, Air Arabia Maroc officially launched a new direct air route between Rabat and Essaouira, further strengthening domestic air connectivity across the Kingdom.

The inaugural flight ceremony took place at Rabat-Salé Airport in the presence of high-profile guests, including André Azoulay, Advisor to His Majesty King Mohammed VI; Lahcen Essaadi, Secretary of State in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy; Christophe Lecourtier, French Ambassador to Morocco; Adel Al Ali, Group CEO of Air Arabia; and Laila Mechbal, General Manager of Air Arabia Maroc.

More than just a new connection, this route represents a step forward in facilitating travel within Morocco, serving both business and leisure passengers while fostering stronger economic and cultural ties between Rabat and Essaouira.

Known for its unique charm, historic medina, and internationally acclaimed music festivals, Essaouira remains one of Morocco’s most iconic tourist destinations. This direct link from the capital city brings the coastal gem even closer, opening new opportunities for tourism and local development.
