Akdital continues its expansion in Morocco’s private healthcare sector. The group has recently notified the Competition Council of its plan to acquire three healthcare facilities in Laâyoune: Polyclinique Laâyoune, SihatInvest, and Al Hikma Medical. This transaction, which involves the exclusive acquisition of 100% of the capital and voting rights of these entities, confirms Akdital’s ambition to strengthen its territorial coverage and expand its specialized healthcare services.
As a leader in Morocco’s private hospital sector, Akdital currently operates 33 facilities, including hospitals, multidisciplinary clinics, and oncology centers. With this acquisition, the group consolidates its presence in the southern region by integrating key healthcare structures. Among them, Polyclinique Laâyoune, still under development, aims to provide a full range of medical and surgical services. SihatInvest is responsible for procuring medical equipment for the Polyclinique, while Al Hikma Medical Center, already operational, offers consultations, medical analyses, radiological exams, and surgical procedures.
This acquisition aligns with Akdital’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare across the country. However, the transaction remains subject to the approval of the Competition Council and the completion of regulatory procedures. The public and relevant stakeholders have ten days, until March 19, 2025, to submit any observations regarding the deal.
