The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced significant snowfall this Tuesday, with accumulations reaching up to 30 centimeters at altitudes above 2,000 meters. Several provinces, including Azilal, Al Haouz, Midelt, Ifrane, Tinghir, and Boulemane, will be affected by this snow event, which is expected to last from 1 PM to midnight.
At the same time, heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected in various regions across the country. The DGM forecasts rainfall ranging from 50 to 70 mm in northern provinces such as Tanger-Assilah, Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Kénitra, Sidi Kacem, Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Ouezzane, Taounate, Taza, and Al Hoceima. Other areas, including Rabat, Salé, Skhirate-Témara, Khemisset, Ifrane, Khénifra, Sidi Slimane, Fès, Meknès, and Moulay Yacoub, are expected to receive between 25 and 35 mm of rainfall.
These weather conditions, marked by an orange alert, call for heightened caution among residents in affected areas. In mountainous regions, snowfall could complicate road traffic and isolate certain communities. Authorities are urging vigilance, especially for drivers and mountain residents, who should anticipate a significant drop in temperatures and difficult travel conditions.
