Akdital expands south with state-of-the-art private hospital in Guelmim

Akdital Group has inaugurated its newest healthcare facility, the Guelmim Private Hospital, strengthening its presence in southern Morocco and reaffirming its status as a leader in the national healthcare sector. The event was attended by Mohamed Najem Abhai, Wali of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, Mbarka Bouaida, President of the Regional Council, and Dr. Rochdi Talib, CEO of Akdital.

The new facility represents a 250 million MAD investment and is equipped to deliver multidisciplinary and oncology care to Guelmim and its surrounding communities. With 126 hospital beds and eight ultra-modern operating rooms, the hospital offers a full range of medical and surgical specialties using the latest medical technology.

In addition to its surgical capacity, the hospital features a high-standard maternity and neonatal unit, an intensive care and resuscitation wing with 9 polyvalent ICU rooms, 7 neonatal incubators, and 25 intensive care beds. It also includes a cardiology intervention unit with a cath lab and stress testing facilities, enhancing care for cardiovascular and neurovascular conditions.

A key asset of the facility is its 24/7 radiology center, offering MRI, CT scan, standard X-ray, ultrasound, and mammography. These services are designed to improve diagnostic efficiency and reduce the need for patient transfers to other cities.

The hospital’s dedicated oncology center features a chemotherapy day unit with 13 treatment chairs and a radiotherapy unit equipped with a state-of-the-art linear accelerator and dosimetric scanner. This specialized infrastructure aims to provide high-quality cancer care locally.

Diagnostic capacity is bolstered by a fully equipped medical analysis laboratory, accessible around the clock, capable of handling a broad spectrum of tests from routine bloodwork to advanced microbiology and immunology diagnostics.

To ensure rapid response to emergencies, the hospital operates a 24/7 emergency department, with anesthesiologists and intensivists on-site at all times. Medical data is managed via a centralized, digital system that ensures security and speed in care delivery.

According to Akdital’s leadership, this new facility is part of a broader national effort to decentralize access to advanced healthcare and align with Morocco’s ongoing health sector reforms. It reflects the Group’s commitment to combining medical excellence, geographic equity, and digital transformation.
