On September 24, 2024, in Casablanca, Attijariwafa Bank organized an important event for hospitality industry players, presenting the new initiative “Cap Hospitality.” This gathering drew key decision-makers, institutions, and active figures in the sector, highlighting a groundbreaking mechanism aimed at revitalizing Morocco’s hotel industry.
Among the notable attendees were Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social Economy, and Mohamed Benchaâboun, Director General of the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment. Alongside them were Hamid Bentahar, President of the National Confederation of Tourism, and Imad Barrakad, Director General of the Moroccan Tourism Engineering Company.
This meeting was designed to showcase the potential of “Cap Hospitality” as a tool for reimagining Morocco’s tourism industry. The initiative aims to bolster the sector, preparing it for major upcoming international events. Attijariwafa Bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national hotel operators through tailored financial backing and modernization strategies.
Launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Economy, the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment, and the Moroccan Tourism Engineering Company (SMIT), “Cap Hospitality” offers hotel operators long-term financing options, with loan amounts ranging from 3 million to 100 million dirhams, repayable over 12 years. The initiative also features a state-backed mechanism where the government reimburses the interest on loans used for hotel renovations, presenting an attractive opportunity for those looking to upgrade their facilities.
In her remarks, Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor emphasized the strategic importance of the program: “Cap Hospitality is a forward-looking initiative designed to maximize Morocco’s tourism potential. It encourages the sector to embrace the opportunities ahead, ensuring our hospitality industry is prepared to meet future challenges. I call on all hotel operators to seize this opportunity and elevate our country’s renowned hospitality.”
Attijariwafa Bank also introduced its expert-led support system, offering a streamlined approach for clients seeking financing. The “Cap Hospitality” program, which was officially launched in Rabat on June 26, 2024, signifies a pivotal moment for the Moroccan hotel industry, as the country works to position itself as a global tourism leader.
