The Board of Directors of Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) announced the appointment of three new General Directors during its meeting on February 27, 2025. These leadership changes reflect the bank’s strategic vision as it enters a new phase of development.

Idriss Bensmaïl joins BCP as General Director in charge of Retail Banking, overseeing all activities and subsidiaries focused on individual, professional, and business clients. At 46 years old, he brings extensive experience in the financial sector, having held senior leadership roles in both Morocco and international markets. Bensmaïl holds a degree from EDHEC Business School in Lille and an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School.

Abdeslam Bennani has been appointed General Director of Corporate & Investment Banking. Previously serving as Deputy General Director responsible for BCP’s International Banking division, he has amassed 27 years of experience in the banking industry, including 14 at BCP. Bennani has a distinguished track record in financing large corporations and expanding banking operations across Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from ISCAE (Institut Supérieur de Commerce et d’Administration des Entreprises) and a postgraduate DESS in Audit and Finance.

Othmane Tajeddine assumes the role of General Director for International Banking after serving as Deputy General Director for Capital Markets and Investment. With over 22 years at BCP, his expertise spans corporate finance, capital markets, and investment banking. At 49, Tajeddine holds a postgraduate DESS in Financial and Asset Management.

These key appointments align with BCP’s growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and expansion. The collective leadership experience and strategic vision of Bensmaïl, Bennani, and Tajeddine will be instrumental in driving the bank’s next phase of development.
