Cosumar has announced that its sugar harvest campaign reached 83% completion by the end of June 2024, a significant improvement from the 62% achieved during the same period last year. Despite challenges posed by water shortages, the campaign proceeded under satisfactory operational conditions. The group attributed this success to the strong mobilization of agricultural partners, on-the-ground support from the agricultural team, and assistance from both central and regional administrations.
Cosumar’s consolidated revenue for the first half of 2024 totaled over 4.98 billion dirhams (MMDH), reflecting a slight increase of 0.5% compared to the same period in the previous year. This growth was primarily driven by an increase in sugar sales in the domestic market.
The group also reported an improvement in its net debt, which stood at 1.06 billion dirhams as of the end of June 2024, down from the end of December 2023. Investments during the first half of 2024 amounted to 88 million dirhams, mainly directed towards ongoing upgrades and maintenance of its industrial facilities.
