Saham Bank unveils a redesigned mobile app featuring an AI assistant, virtual cards and new digital banking tools for customers and businesses.

For customers who want to check their bank details or manage a card without searching through menus, Saham Bank has introduced a redesigned mobile app that aims to make everyday banking simpler.

The Moroccan bank announced the new version on 9 October, introducing an artificial intelligence-powered assistant alongside features designed to give customers more control over their accounts and make banking services easier to access.

The app includes a new assistant called LiA, which allows customers to describe what they need in everyday language and directs them to the relevant service.

For example, users can ask where to find their bank account details, known in Morocco as a RIB, or how to increase their bank card limit. The assistant then guides them to the appropriate feature.

Saham Bank said LiA had been designed with security and confidentiality in mind. The tool marks the bank’s first use of artificial intelligence in its customers’ day-to-day banking experience.

The redesigned app also allows customers to activate virtual cards according to their needs and use them for online or in-store payments without carrying a physical card.

Users can check their card details, manage their cards more independently and contact banking advisers through messaging. The bank says the updated interface is intended to make routine transactions easier and quicker.

The changes are also aimed at professionals and businesses, with tools tailored to their banking needs.

Professionals can switch between their personal and business banking spaces with a single tap, allowing them to manage both through one login.

Businesses can use Saham Bank’s myBusiness service on their phones or through the web to get a broader view of their financial activity. The service also provides information about expected credit inflows and financial outflows, helping businesses anticipate their cash-flow needs.

The new app is the latest step in Saham Bank’s broader digital transformation strategy.

Previous developments include allowing customers to open accounts entirely online and introducing new banking packages that include services such as free instant transfers.

The bank is also continuing to develop its branch network and improve how it serves customers, while using technology to give them greater independence in managing their finances.

The updated app is available on Google Play for Android devices and the App Store for iOS.
