Morocco has recorded 3,930 new COVID-19 cases while 5,459 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the past 24 hours, the ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.
A total of 19,620,474 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 16,102,416, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 893,462, while recoveries rise to 840,002, i.e. a recovery rate of 94%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (1,241), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (1,089),Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (428), the Eastern region (339), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (173), Fez-Meknes (163), Marrakech-Safi (157), Souss-Massa (126), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (69), Draa-Tafilalet (61), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (45) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (39).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 13,296 with 72 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Marrakech-Safi (15), Casablanca-Settat (14), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (8), Souss-Massa (8), the Eastern region (7), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (6), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (4), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (4), Fez-Meknes (2), Drea-Tafilalet (2) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (2), the ministry said, noting that the fatality rate has reached 1.5%.
The number of active cases has decreased to 40,164 including 2,039 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry added.
