Crédit du Maroc and Mastercard have entered into a strategic partnership to introduce cutting-edge technologies, accelerate the bank’s digital transformation, and offer tailored solutions to customers. This collaboration underscores Crédit du Maroc’s dedication to fulfilling the daily financial needs of Moroccans while cementing its reputation as an innovator in the banking sector.

“We believe our new partnership will drive the adoption of digital payments in Morocco by providing our customers with seamless and personalized solutions aimed at enhancing their satisfaction and financial security,” stated Ali Benkirane, Board Chairman of Crédit du Maroc.

Dimitrios Dosis, President of Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Mastercard, emphasized the company’s commitment to digital transformation and financial inclusion across Africa. “Morocco is a crucial part of our growth strategy as a regional economic and financial hub. With this partnership, we aim to further our efforts in creating a prosperous and sustainable digital economy in the Kingdom.”

Morocco has made significant strides in boosting financial inclusion, particularly among households, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), women, youth, and rural communities. According to World Bank data, the percentage of Moroccans with access to a bank account rose from 29% in 2017 to 44% in 2023. Digital financial services have been a key driver of this progress.

This partnership is set to introduce innovative financial services in Morocco, supporting the Kingdom’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives and fostering a more inclusive financial landscape.
