Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), has been appointed First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The decision was announced this Saturday following the first meeting of the CAF Executive Committee held in Accra, Ghana.
This appointment marks another milestone in Lekjaa’s influential career and further elevates Morocco’s role in shaping the future of African football. It comes at a key moment, with the country preparing to host the Africa Cup of Nations in 2025 and co-organize the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
Alongside Lekjaa, Ghana’s Kurt Okraku was named Second Vice President of CAF, while Pierre Alain Monguengui from Gabon will serve as Third Vice President. The Democratic Republic of Congo is represented by Bestine Kazadi as Fourth Vice President, and Mozambique’s Faizal Sidat completes the leadership team as Fifth Vice President.
This new executive lineup will be tasked with steering major reforms across the continent, focusing on governance, infrastructure development, and boosting the competitiveness of African teams and clubs on the global stage.
