On April 2, the city of Dakhla became the stage for a powerful moment of inspiration aimed at empowering young Africans. In the presence of several consuls general representing countries such as Cape Verde, Guinea, Suriname, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI) and the Attijariwafa bank Group officially launched the second edition of their entrepreneurial training program. This initiative aligns with Morocco’s broader vision for a united, forward-looking, and resilient Africa.
Designed as a launchpad for the continent’s emerging talent, the program reflects Morocco’s deep commitment to South-South cooperation. It’s focused on supporting international students—many of whom studied at Moroccan universities—as they begin shaping and developing their own business ventures. The goal is ambitious yet clear: equip a new generation of changemakers with the tools they need to drive progress in their home countries and across Africa.
Spearheaded by Attijariwafa bank’s Human Capital division and its Dar Al Moukawil network, in partnership with AMCI, the program is structured around three core pillars. The first focuses on entrepreneurship fundamentals, offering in-depth guidance on how to start a business—from legal structures and market research to financing options and business plan development. The second stage is all about action, helping young participants move from concept to company with hands-on mentorship and practical tools. The final phase targets micro-enterprises that are already up and running, providing tailored support—both financial and strategic—in areas such as management, digital transformation, business development, and customer relations.
The response to this year’s edition was overwhelmingly positive. Following the call for applications published on February 24, 2025, through the platform www.moroccoalumni.ma, more than 1,000 international students and graduates applied, eager to take part in what promises to be a transformative experience. Their enthusiasm speaks volumes about the value and timeliness of such initiatives for youth in the Global South.
By teaming up once again for this second edition, AMCI and Attijariwafa bank reaffirm their shared belief that entrepreneurship can be a powerful engine for inclusion, self-reliance, and sustainable development. Through efforts like these, Morocco continues to strengthen its role as a regional hub for education, excellence, and meaningful cooperation across Africa and beyond.
