Doctors, researchers and tech specialists have gathered in Casablanca to discuss how artificial intelligence is changing healthcare. MedAI 2026 is being held at the Casablanca International Fair. The conference runs alongside GITEX Future Health Africa Morocco.

The event is organised by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation. It is held under the honorary presidency of Professor Lahcen Belyamani, President and CEO of the Mohammed VI Foundation.

The conference looks at how AI and digital tools are shaping the future of medicine.

Sessions focus on early diagnosis and precision medicine, including how AI can help detect diseases sooner and personalise treatments. The programme also covers robotic surgery, remote patient monitoring and the digital transformation of hospitals to improve efficiency.

Another part of the agenda looks at data privacy, cybersecurity and the ethical use of AI in public health.

Organisers say the event aims to bring together experts from medicine, computer science and engineering to encourage joint research. The goal is to speed up the development of accessible and sustainable AI solutions.

The conference aims to support long-term changes to healthcare systems in Morocco, across Africa and internationally while keeping patient care at the centre.
