Coastguards of the Royal Navy, operating in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, assisted, from July 17 to 18, 2021, 204 candidates for illegal migration, mostly from sub-Saharan Africa, including women and children among whom was a corpse, in difficulty aboard kayaks and makeshift boats, a military source said.

The rescued people received first aid on board units of the Royal Navy, before being transported to the closest ports of the Kingdom and handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual procedures, the same source said.
