The Moroccan automotive market is entering a new phase with the arrival of the BYD SEAGULL, a fully electric vehicle designed for urban mobility. Unveiled in Casablanca by BYD, the global leader in electrified vehicles, this groundbreaking city car combines innovation, performance, and affordability.
With this launch, BYD and its official distributor, Auto Nejma, reaffirm their commitment to promoting cleaner, more sustainable transportation. During the unveiling event, Adil Bennani, Auto Nejma’s General Manager, highlighted the strategic importance of this model, stating, “The BYD SEAGULL marks a major milestone for BYD in Morocco. It blends cutting-edge technology with a practical design, meeting the demands of modern urban mobility while ensuring a safe and enjoyable driving experience.”
The BYD SEAGULL stands out with its compact and dynamic design, tailored for city commuting. Built on BYD’s E-Platform 3.0 and equipped with the renowned Blade Battery, it delivers an impressive urban range of 445 km, powered by a 38.88 kWh battery. Thanks to its fast-charging capability, the battery can go from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes with a 40 kW DC charger, ensuring both efficiency and convenience.
Under the hood, the electric motor generates 55 kW (77 hp) and 135 Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 130 km/h. The interior is equally advanced, featuring a 10.1-inch rotating touchscreen compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with sophisticated voice command capabilities.
Safety is a top priority, with six airbags, a high-strength reinforced structure, and integrated safety technologies providing optimal protection for passengers.
Designed for urban life, the BYD SEAGULL measures 3,780 mm in length, 1,715 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height. Its sleek lines, inspired by oceanic movements, add a touch of elegance to its compact frame. Inside, the spacious cabin is fitted with vegan leather seats, combining comfort and style. The model is available in three refined colors: black, white, and green.
Offered as a fully equipped single version at 209,900 MAD (including tax), the BYD SEAGULL will be available starting March 15, 2025, across Auto Nejma’s network, including showrooms in Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech, Agadir, and Tangier.
Since its entry into the Moroccan market in July 2023, BYD has introduced six electrified models (HAN, TANG, ATTO 3, SEAL, SEAL U PHEV) and continues to expand its lineup to meet the growing demand for smart and eco-friendly mobility solutions.
