In a significant step toward modernizing Morocco’s banking landscape, Bank Al-Maghrib has unveiled a secure digital portal that gives citizens instant, independent access to their personal banking data. The launch, announced during the 2025 GITEX Africa event in Marrakech, marks a new chapter in the country’s drive to make essential financial services more accessible through digital innovation.
Until now, obtaining sensitive banking information often meant long waits and in-person visits to official agencies. That’s no longer the case. With just a few clicks, users can now retrieve critical data securely from the comfort of their homes. This move is part of Bank Al-Maghrib’s broader strategy to bring commonly requested public services online and within easy reach.
The new portal offers three core features aimed at simplifying key banking interactions. First, individuals can view a complete list of bank accounts opened in their name with any Moroccan financial institution, including both active and closed accounts.
Second, the platform introduces a function specifically designed for heirs. In the event of a relative’s passing, family members can access the deceased’s banking details—information essential for handling inheritance matters—by choosing any Bank Al-Maghrib branch to process the request.
Third, users can check for any check-related payment incidents, a tool especially valuable for both individuals and businesses seeking to minimize financial risk.
To ensure airtight security, the system is linked to the authentication framework provided by Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security. Access to the platform requires a valid, government-issued ID.
The portal is now live at PortailUsagers.Bankalmaghrib.ma, and with it, the Central Bank aims to foster a more transparent and user-friendly experience—one that keeps pace with the digital expectations of modern-day consumers.
