Royal Air Maroc is continuing its expansion across the Mediterranean, with a new direct route linking Casablanca to Catania, Sicily, starting June 28, 2025. The national carrier will operate two weekly flights—on Mondays and Saturdays—using Boeing 737 aircraft.
Flight schedules are tailored to maximize onward connections from Royal Air Maroc’s Casablanca hub. Departures from Casablanca are set for 3:20 p.m., arriving in Catania at 7:40 p.m. The return leg departs Sicily at 8:40 p.m., landing in Casablanca by 11:35 p.m., allowing seamless transfers to the airline’s broader African and international network.
This new route strengthens Royal Air Maroc’s footprint in Italy, expanding its coverage to seven destinations from Casablanca. With Catania joining the list, the airline now flies to Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Venice, Naples, and the Sicilian city. It’s a move that reflects growing demand—particularly from Moroccans living in Italy, members of the broader African diaspora, and Italian travelers eager to explore Morocco’s cultural and coastal offerings.
The connection is also designed to serve transit passengers heading to various points across Africa and beyond, with Casablanca acting as a major gateway.
“This new route between Casablanca and Catania is a milestone in our Italian growth strategy, especially in the south,” said Hamid Addou, CEO of Royal Air Maroc. “It meets the expectations of our fellow citizens living in Sicily and creates fresh opportunities for both African and Italian travelers.”
With the addition of this service, Royal Air Maroc now offers 45 weekly flights between Morocco and Italy, underscoring its commitment to flexible, reliable travel options tailored to passenger needs. The launch is part of a broader effort to enhance air connectivity from Casablanca and other northern Moroccan airports—particularly important for serving the global Moroccan community.
Tickets for the Casablanca–Catania route are already available for purchase on the airline’s website, through call centers, Royal Air Maroc sales offices, and partner travel agencies.
