Moroccans are buying more BYD cars, and Auto Nejma is expanding its network to keep up with demand. The company, which represents BYD in Morocco, has announced new openings in Casablanca, Rabat, Fes and Oujda as it looks to make sales and after-sales services more accessible to customers across the country.

The expansion comes as BYD has become the clear leader in Morocco’s fully electric car market. Since entering the country at the end of 2022, the Chinese brand has captured an estimated 60% to 65% of the local electric vehicle market.

In Casablanca, Auto Nejma has opened a new BYD service centre on Boulevard Bahmad. The 2,000 square metre site is dedicated to BYD vehicles and offers maintenance, repairs and bodywork services. It includes 23 workstations, an electric paint booth and modern wheel alignment equipment. The company said it invested 4 million dirhams in BYD-approved tools and equipment.

The centre can service both fully electric and plug-in hybrid models and employs four advisers trained to BYD’s international standards.

In Rabat, Auto Nejma has opened a new BYD showroom on Avenue Hassan II. The site includes a customer lounge, a 1,600-square-metre mechanical workshop and a 600-square-metre bodywork workshop.

Together, the facilities provide nine mechanical workstations and eight bodywork stations. The network is also supported by Hakam Establishments, Auto Nejma’s long-time service partner in the capital, which adds another 2,100 square metres of workshop space and 16 workstations.

The company is also expanding into other regions. A new BYD showroom is set to open on 18 June at the Borj Fes shopping centre in Fes. In Oujda, Auto Nejma has opened a new facility at the city’s Technopole to serve customers in eastern Morocco.

The expansion comes during a period of strong growth for the company. In the first three months of 2026, Auto Nejma sold 1,627 vehicles, up nearly 21% from a year earlier. Revenue reached 815 million dirhams, while investment spending rose to 39.4 million dirhams, compared with 3.8 million dirhams in the same period last year.

BYD’s range in Morocco now includes the Seagull, Dolphin, Atto 3 and Seal electric models, as well as plug-in hybrid vehicles such as the Song Plus DM-i, Seal U DM-i and Tang SUV.

Auto Nejma says customers can expect 95% spare parts availability, maintenance costs below 0.14 dirhams per kilometre and servicing every 15,000 kilometres. The company also offers online booking, vehicle pick-up services and maintenance plans with instalment payments.

“Our strategy is simple, to be as close as possible to our customers. Every new opening is a concrete commitment to BYD owners and to those considering the move to electrified mobility,” said Adil Bennani, Chief Executive of Auto Nejma.

“With Casablanca, Rabat, Fes and Oujda, we are continuing the development of the BYD network across the country.”
