The Japanese group Nippon Express recently inaugurated its Moroccan subsidiary in Tangier.

According to the top management of the group, the choice of Morocco for this establishment is explained by the fact that the kingdom represents the second most important automobile producer in Africa, also positioning itself as a complementary production player to Europe, with a strong demand for import/export, supply and commercial logistics centered on the automobile. The same source indicates that this industry in Morocco is experiencing strong growth.

However, it should be noted that the development of the Nippon Express group in Morocco began 5 years ago (in December 2017), with the opening of an office in Casablanca, which enabled the Moroccan branch to start its activities. . Then, in June 2019, the group opened its Logistics Center in the port area of Tangier Med. Note that Nippon Express Morocco is the result of the merger of these two structures. The new entity aims to further develop its activities and strengthen its commercial base to support customers’ activities in the expanding market in Morocco.

“We are convinced that there is a lot of potential to be developed on the Moroccan market. We intend to accelerate the development of all kinds of logistics activities focused not only on the automotive industries, but also on other areas including electrical and aeronautics. Our wish is to maintain the development of our activities, in compliance with Japanese standards and this, in close collaboration with Moroccan know-how and skills”, assured Kuniaki Matsushima, Managing Director Nippon Express Morocco.
