Air Arabia Maroc is expanding its domestic footprint with a strategic new route connecting the capital to Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Starting April 14, 2025, the country’s leading low-cost airline will launch direct flights between Rabat and Essaouira, a move aimed at boosting regional connectivity and meeting rising demand for internal travel.
Passengers will now be able to fly between the administrative capital and the historic seaside city in under 90 minutes. The route will operate twice a week—on Mondays and Fridays—with schedules designed to accommodate everything from quick getaways and cultural trips to business travel.
Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is known for its windswept beaches, vibrant markets, and thriving arts scene. By linking Rabat directly to this Atlantic gem, Air Arabia Maroc is not only enhancing domestic mobility but also opening the door to fresh economic and tourism opportunities.
“This route is tailored for both business travelers and those looking to unwind,” the airline said in a statement. Essaouira continues to draw visitors from across Morocco and abroad, thanks to its laid-back vibe, popular music and film festivals, and bohemian charm.
Flights will be operated using the Airbus A320, a core part of Air Arabia’s fleet. On Mondays, planes will depart Rabat at 1:30 PM and land in Essaouira at 2:40 PM, with a return flight at 3:20 PM. On Fridays, departures are set for 4:55 PM, returning at 6:45 PM—ideal for weekend trips or a full workday on location.
This new route is part of the airline’s broader mission to make domestic travel more accessible and to support regional development. It joins existing services from Rabat to cities like Agadir, Oujda, and Nador, reinforcing Air Arabia Maroc’s role as a major player in the country’s internal air transport network.
Tickets are already available through all usual booking channels, including the airline’s website, mobile app, call center, and partner travel agencies.
