Insurance agents, brokers and other industry professionals will meet in Casablanca on October 8 to discuss how new risks and new technologies are changing their work. The National Federation of Insurance Agents and Brokers in Morocco (FNACAM) will hold its 10th annual meeting at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca. The event will focus on the theme: “Reinventing intermediation in the face of tomorrow’s risks.”
The meeting will look at changes already affecting the insurance sector. These include climate change, new types of risks, artificial intelligence, cyber risks, digitalisation and changing customer expectations.
These changes are also affecting how risks are identified, prevented and insured. FNACAM wants the meeting to address the role of insurance intermediaries in a more technology-driven sector and how they can continue to provide value to customers.
The programme will include two keynote sessions. The first will focus on new risks. The second will look at the need for insurance intermediaries to anticipate changes in the sector and adapt in order to keep their profession sustainable.
A first panel will examine the changes affecting the risk environment and what they mean for the insurance industry. The discussion will pay particular attention to technological changes.
The event will also include an African perspective. Participants will discuss the future of insurance intermediation in Africa, with representatives from Benin taking part.
A second panel will focus on the insurance intermediary of the future. It will look at the skills this professional will need, the role they will play and the new business models that could help intermediaries remain an important part of the relationship between insurers and customers.
FNACAM President Farid Bensaïd said the profession needs to adapt as risks, technology and customer expectations change. He identified expertise, proximity to customers and the ability to help them deal with increasingly complex risks as key elements of the intermediary’s role.
The meeting will also give professionals an opportunity to share experiences and discuss the future of insurance intermediation. FNACAM said it wants the discussions to be practical, open and focused on future changes in the profession.
The event will bring together insurance agents and brokers, insurance companies, experts, institutional actors, technology and innovation specialists and other economic actors.
The 10th annual meeting will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 9am at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca.
FNACAM is a non-profit association that has worked for more than 33 years to organise and represent insurance intermediaries. The federation is chaired by Farid Bensaïd and says it is the only federation approved by the Authority for Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS).
The organisation brings together insurance firms of different sizes as well as several associations of insurance agents. It operates through seven regional sections and two groups representing agents and brokers. FNACAM works with insurance intermediaries and represents their interests with other actors in the sector.
