Lebanese superstar Nawal El Zoghby expressed her excitement and pride at participating in the Mawazine-Rhythms of the World Festival for the fifth time. Speaking at a press conference in Rabat on Monday, ahead of her performance at the Nahda stage, the modern Arabic music diva highlighted the festival’s growing prominence on both the Arab and international music scenes.
El Zoghby praised the festival for creating new opportunities for collaboration among music industry professionals, including emerging artists and producers, thereby fostering the development and evolution of their careers.
Expressing her admiration for Moroccan music, the celebrated artist recalled her successful performances in the Moroccan dialect, which have resonated widely across the Arab world. She also announced that her upcoming album will feature a new song in “darija” (Moroccan Arabic), hoping it will achieve the same success as her previous hits.
El Zoghby spoke candidly about how the Mawazine Festival enhances artists’ reputations in the Arab and international music spheres.
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the 19th edition of the Mawazine-Rhythms of the World Festival (June 21-29) is organized by the Maroc Cultures Association and is celebrated for its theme of “diversity and festivity.”
