Nassim Belkhayat, CEO of Neo Motors, celebrated the achievements of its company in an interview with L’Économiste. Just a few months after their commercial launch, around forty Neo vehicles, a brand of Moroccan origin, are already traversing the roads of the kingdom.
Customer base and market demand
The majority of buyers are private individuals, although some “patriotic” companies have also placed orders for their fleets. Demand is robust, with dozens of reservations recorded each month on the manufacturer’s online platform.
Since its market debut on December 1, 2023, the Neo SUV has been available in two versions, equipped with 3- or 4-cylinder engines produced at the Stellantis factory in Kenitra. Priced between 175,000 and 185,000 dirhams, this urban vehicle appeals with its modern design and strong performance. Neo Motors aims to build on this momentum and establish itself as a significant player in the Moroccan automotive industry.
Industrial expansion and future models
On the industrial front, Belkhayat mentioned that the factory’s expansion is nearing completion. This extension is expected to increase Neo Motors’ production capacity to 5,000 vehicles per year. The company is also finalizing a 5-door SUV with a 1.2L turbo engine, delivering 140 horsepower and featuring an automatic transmission. This new model is slated for approval by the end of 2024.
Venturing into electric mobility
Belkhayat also hinted at Neo Motors’ plans for “surprises” in the electric mobility sector, a segment he views as a “high-value niche” and a growth driver for the coming years.
